My name is Neale Bacon, and I was born again July 31st 1977, but wandered away not long after. Oh, I played the Christian game, but I was not a serious follower of Jesus Christ until 1995.
I currently work at a skid row drop in center and shelter as Director and Community Chaplain. As well as running the center, I counsel people, visit them in hotels and hospitals, and just be there for them.
I am also involved in Nursing Home Ministry through my church.
I have taken courses in Biblical studies, Pastoral Care, Critical Incident Stress, and Drug and Alcohol Counselling among others. I started Loving Shepherd Web Chapel as another part of my overall desire to be a servant of God, and to reach as many people for Jesus as I can.
I am always amazed at people's reaction to a simple statement like Jesus Loves You. Sometimes disbelief, sometimes joy, sometimes anger, sometimes simply comfort, it is always different.
A lot of people have had bad experiences with "The Church" but are still seeking answers. I feel the web is a great tool to share the good news with people from all over the world.
Loving Shepherd Web Chapel will never solicit nor accept donations. The web site is free (thanks Tripod), and my only cost is my time. The gospel of Jesus Christ should never come with a monetary pricetag.
What Jesus did for me was the greatest gift I could ever receive, and it is a gift I want to share, along with the talents and abilities He has given me to minister. |
